THE FEELINGS FACTORFeelings are definitely real! They are both emotional and physical. We can be sure of that because we physically, emotionally and intuitively experience them. They are a part of our consciousness. They say that there are 34,000 types of emotions we can feel that stem from six basic emotions we experience. Although feelings are always real they may NOT always be ACCURATELY interpreted. We can create emotions from experiences by attaching the energy from the thoughts that those memories bring. Emotions can add expression to present conditions and/or past memories of an experience. Memories can recreate the identical emotional feelings that were previously experienced if triggered to do so. Feelings are the by-product of thought NOT the original thought, rather the thoughts developed through thinking about it. Although thoughts produce feelings, they result from the process of our interaction with the universe, we call experience. WE ALL HAVE FEELINGS AND FEEL EMOTIONS. It is important to distinguish the difference between emotional and physical ones. Physical feelings should be more accurately called sensations. Examples of sensations are physical hunger, physical thirst, physical pain, hot, and cold. These all start in our bodies and then move up to the brain. Feelings function at several different levels or domains. there may be many, but we will examine at least three levels here. For this post the first physical level will be the domain we'll associate with our senses and sensations. Although there are more then five senses, we will limit our scope to the five basic well known sensory faculties; touch, taste, smelling, seeing and hearing. The second part is what we'll call the intellectual level it is the domain we'll associate with our perception, reasoning, intuition, memory, will and imagination. The third part, the spiritual and subconscious level, is the domain we'll associate with our sensitivity to the manifestations or vibrations of invisible, undefined or unseen dimensions most of society neglects or ignores. We can mistakenly regard feelings and emotions identically. Feelings are a faculty of awareness within us. Emotions are the resulting energy and vibration we display in thinking, actions and behavior. The core of basic feelings are manifested physically. They are how the universe signals to us if we are in harmony with it. This is also how our physical body teaches our brain about contact with and exposure to the universe. These basic physical feelings describe our comfort with the universe, they include Touch (pain, pleasure and indifference), Temperatures (hot and cold), Appetite (hunger and thirst), Texture (soft and hard), and Energy (tired and alert). There are other feelings that stimulate and arouse us that may be included in these distinctions. The next level of feeling is intellectual. These feelings are what we would term as conditional. They are the feelings we experience pondering thought from external stimulus. These are reactions to conditions or situations we face. Our learned instincts get played out here and are strongly influenced by core basic physical feelings. Environmental factors can also affect these feelings if we allow them to. The final level depicted here is subconscious or spiritual. These are vibratory and difficult to define but we can describe them. We believe that all babies possess v-i-b-r-a-t-o-r-y feelings that start within the womb. These abilities gradually develop or diminish over time after birth. An example of this phenomenon can be found in the Bible. The story in Luke 1:41-44 is about when Elisabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, visited Mary the mother of Jesus. Both women were pregnant; and as soon as Elisabeth heard Mary's voice her baby, John the Baptist, leap within her womb. We believe that John connected with the vibrations of Jesus, inside Mary. This is by no means a complete or final exposition on feelings. We should keep in mind that we are spiritual being in a physical body with intellectual minds. For today's purposes we have distinguished emotions as somewhat separate or independent of feelings. This is NOT necessarily true! Emotions cannot exist without feelings to support them. Our purpose here is to establish three distinctions for future reference. Understanding the genesis of experiences gives us a greater appreciation of what they really mean. Feelings can lie! A headache can result from a bad tooth, alcohol, stress, sleeping issues, medications, caffeine or other external causes. What we feel may NOT be real! Our Interpretation of natural physical urges energized by other conditions like sensual stimulus, illness or drugs, may lead to attaching different emotional or psychological behaviors whenever those feelings arise. There may be multiple factors that contribute to "feeling initiated responses" and "memory initiated emotions." Some of them were developed from childhood experiences. Others are learned or imagined. Remember, feelings can be deceptive! Many people carry habitual behaviors for a lifetime, never realizing that their feelings may NOT actually be valid. Changing this condition generally will NOT occur until the party experiencing those feelings comes to grip with them.
