A PROPHET IS A PERSON REGARDED AS ONE WHO PROCLAIMS DIVINELY INSPIRED REVELATIONS AND TEACHINGS. MOST OF US, AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER, HAVE FOUND OURSELVES PLAYING THIS ROLE. PROCLAIMING THE TRUTH, UTTERING PROJECTIONS, GIVING WARNINGS AND HEEDING SIGNS IS HOW THE "WRITINGS ON THE WALL," ARE MADE PLAIN TO PEOPLE. MANY PROPHETS, REGARDLESS OF THEIR FAITH OR RELIGION, WERE EITHER FEARED, HATED OR BOTH. THIS WAS DUE TO THEIR UNPOPULAR PREDICTIONS AND PRONOUNCEMENTS. EVERYONE AT SOME LEVEL OR ANOTHER CARRIES A PROPHETIC RESPONSIBILITY. THERE ARE NO KNOWN PRE-QUALIFICATIONS OR MONOPOLIES ON PROPHETIC CALLINGS.CLICK THE > ARROWS TO PLAY MEDIA AND DARK GREEN LETTERING FOR LINKS![]() The end of the world, better known as "Doomsday" is a ONE TIME EVENT. This post is not about that. This post is about "now" and the ramifications of yesterday's choices echoed by today's voices. The spirit (attitude/consciousness) that the world has adopted is self destructive. Crying over spilled milk is one thing as a species we do best. When we operate in a remedial rather than preventative manner, we multiply the effect of reaping what we sow. Sowing to the wind means reaping to the whirlwind. How many severe weather events will it take us to realize that we play a role in climate change? Most businesses now understand that climate risk is financial risk. How many uprisings will we have to endure before recognizing that we cannot impose traditional moral codes upon an immoral society? We don't wrestle with pigs or even try to keep them clean. Living in mud is their nature. We confine a pigs behavior by keeping them penned up in their own environment. We keep wrestling with pigs to get them out of the mud. It's a dirty job nobody likes but the pigs love it. When will we learn that we cannot legislate behavior? A "code of conduct" is an underlying standard mutually accepted and adopted by the society that embraces it. In a society of "freedoms" where "anything goes," everything is an option. Societal standards fall under moral authority not legal authority. A society lacking social standards will suffer social disintegration. Its only a matter of time till the the next mass shooting or race related hate crime. It's no longer about "waking up," this is the new norm. Let's face it, the lethargy has passed and the apathy has set in. We couldn't even come together as a planet to fight a common "viral" enemy. These are all highly preventable calamities. Without a willingness to sacrifice or modify our positions on how to address these problems, we will find ourselves constantly looking for a remedy after the fact. Although some pain is inevitable, the amount of our suffering is optional. Not knowing about some situations is unavoidable, and expressing our opinion about some situations are unnecessary. It is what it is regardless of how we feel about it; but it can only remain as it is, if we fail to do anything about it. CHANGE IS INEVITABLE...GROWTH IS OPTIONAL![]() For something to be preventable it must also be foreseen. What often turns out to be predictable, in hind sight, also turns out to be obvious. Life is as cheap as we depict it to be in our movies, recordings, video games and daily interactions. When something occurs that overwhelms us or offends our sensibilities we grieve apathetically for a period of time that soothes our seared consciousness. After the news cycle abates we quickly forget (choose not to recall) the repetitive tragedy until it plays out again. It is we who practice living conflicting and contradictory lifestyles. We tend to produce and perpetuate the conditions we resent the most. Aren't we a country based on christian values? How can there be "both," so much abundance and lack, among a species that is by nature designed to share interdependence? How can we witness people starving over "there" while we waste food over "here?" Even wolves divide the spoils of their kill among the pack. Do we lack the means to end world hunger or are we just selfish with our bountiful resources? Life is as precious as we value it to be. Every newborn offers us new hope. The value of a newborn is priceless to its mother and even more so to the barren or childless. If a human life is invaluable, how can a few hundred dollars even come close to assessing it. Life is cheapened in a society that has a history of valuing one kind of life over another. Such a society is destined to struggle with racism, sexism, nepotism, poverty and human rights. Our data driven society has the capacity to anticipate and avert most crisis's. We all should be able to foresee the impending global food crisis. Hunger and starvation has a new narrative that comes from apathy. Our attention has selfishly turned towards more and more to things we want and less and less to what others need. We form businesses to address our wants, but create charities to deal with humanities needs. Now that birthing and/or preventing births have become a business, doctors are paid to enhance our fertility while simultaneously being paid to terminate pregnancies. Other then bankers that finance wars on two sides; are there any other professions that derive profit from playing both sides of a struggle? The medical industry profits through simultaneously fertilizing and terminating pregnancies, while the pharmaceutical industry works in the same manner. Is it mostly about the legal, moral and ethical concerns, or is it somehow about the money? The best investments we can make are not in stocks, but in people. Consider the overall effect on society that a real "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND," policy would have if we simply concentrated on guaranteeing our youth, from infancy to adulthood, with all of the emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual support required. The idea is that even if their immediate family structure fails, society supplies a fail-over support they can fall back in to as a safety net. The results would be less incarcerations, less teen pregnancies, less crime, fewer single parent households, fewer abortions, fewer mental health issues, more role models, more support systems and a higher overall societal standard. We tend to disguise our guilty conscious of the past by rewriting history, ignoring it or pretending it never existed. “The past is never dead. It's not even past.” This quote by William Faulkner rings true to this very day. It appears that we seemingly and perhaps unwittingly continue to reinforce the traditions of the past by incorporating old values into present problems. Can we actually solve tomorrows problem with yesterday's thinking? Perhaps this is the thinking that has shaped our biases and warped our philosophy of fairness. THERE'S NEW WRITING ON THE WALL WITH THE SAME OLD MESSAGE![]() It ought to be obvious. We should expect more of the same. Not exactly the same but similar circumstances with an added twist. History cannot repeat itself, but it often does resemble itself in many ways. Although there is nothing new under the sun there are new ways of presenting it. Progress accelerates process whenever it is properly applied. It's not all bad news. Although bad news travels faster, good news lasts longer, We can expect a conglomerate of medical, scientific and technical advances and/or discoveries in contrast to all of the continually evolving devastation. We should not underestimate our ability or propensity to procrastinate beyond our ability to mitigate or ameliorate our present crop of crisis's. It may appear that we are facing a new crisis right after dealing with the last one. It may even seem that each individual crisis spawns another. Is it possible that we are in the midst of one giant crisis with multiple manifestations? As mentioned in previous post, we are now experiencing a new phenomena of accelerating convergence. Society has labeled it, under the "E.S.G." banner, but it is much more than that. This is a quagmire of advances and calamities arriving in multiple waves with both cures and crisis's. Presently, we attempt to address issues without dealing with the underlying causes and conditions. Treating social symptoms only allows societal sickness to fester and grow. Expect everything from mental health to sovereign wealth to be affected. We continually attempt to remedy things without fixing ourselves. We can call one another names and label contrary narratives as scandals, but it only amounts to the "pot" calling the "kettle" black. Yes, humanity is broken! There is no easy fix, but there is a panacea. We must address the spiritual factors and forces we always tend to ignore. We must recognize that as a species we require collaborative more than competitive interaction. It is our collaborations that are the precursor to our great accomplishments. We should practice utilizing competition to refine our accomplishments. Competition can create improvements rather than enemies when the objective for all sides is to achieve a desired goal. We are more connected as a planet then we've ever been. The turmoil will continue if we remain divided as a people and species? Today's rantings and ravings have simply become ramblings of rehearsed rhetoric. The ABC's of our existence are no longer being taken seriously. A is to abide (Coexist). B is to believe (Faith). C is to create (Express). D is to discover (Learn). E is to exchange (Commerce). F is to fulfill (Destiny). G is to give (Love). These are seven things we all can bestow and receive without charging or paying for them. These conclusions are authoritative and their effects are inevitable when practiced.
