Forgive and forget. That's what they say. However saying and doing are two separate things. Whether we want to comply with this concept or not; no one can be expected to do something that is not possible to do. The more we understand in life, as to what is and what is not under our volitional control, the easier it will be to deal with life. Let's put it plainly forgiveness is possible forgetting is not! It is only through forgiveness that we can reconcile or "get over" any experience by deciding and learning to coexist with them peacefully within our memory. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting. Rather, forgiveness means letting go of the pain the incident is causing us. We are hard wired to remember things, this is how we mature and grow; forgetting is not natural. We learn through experiencing. As we experience more and more in life, compiling and recalling every experience becomes increasingly challenging. The more impacting the experience the easier it is to remember. We should never forget life's lessons. Forgetting traumatically implies a measurable memory loss or a conscious or subconscious denial. We are hard wired not to forget! Forgiveness is not hard wired! Forgiveness is seeded into the soil of our souls and must be watered. Forgiveness is the substrate of love. True love is impossible without it. Most of us agree that love is an intangible force with feelings, form and function. There is fact and force behind the saying, "love conquerors all." The fact is that with the proper agent it can and that through the proper application it will. The highest level of "LOVES" functioning is forgiveness. There is nothing of a higher magnitude for the expression of love then to forgive. Forgetting is not a choice forgiving is. There are things many of us would like to forget or at least pretend they never occurred, but our "minds" memory stores everything. Forgetting is more than simply loosing track of the information inside our mind it is loosing the capability to access it. Feelings provide the biggest barrier to forgiveness. We are not required to forget to forgive! Let's not go to deep. There are exceptions like PTSD. People who suffer from PTSD have feelings attached to witnessed or experienced traumatic memories they can't shake. This goes beyond the physiological response from our sympathetic system to freeze, fight or flight. PTSD affects sleeping, relationships and response to everyday events. We are not referring to flashbacks, hyperarousal, avoidance or negative beliefs. We are referring to everyday feelings we all share. How we feel about an experience determines how we process it within our minds. Although our ego provides us with our sense of worth and self esteem it also mediates between fault and responsibility for actions and experiences. Forgiveness is generally a simple activity until it faces our ego. We can measure our ego in light of how easily we are offended. The larger the ego the more it must be controlled and balanced by intellect to subordinate it. Our ego is the ultimate defense mechanism and demands logic, reasoning and answers when damaged, hurt or bruised. It can be both our first line of defense and our last resort. Questioning "HOW" and Determining "WHY" anything bothers us is essential for ego control. Taking offense is derived from our perception of, or exception to, an event. When someone offends us or "hurts our feelings" ego can justify any behavior. Strong feelings are a formidable opponent that can override sound thinking. This sanctions "the right" to react. Let's put it plainly feelings are the substance of meaning we use to express a position, they are intangible. In reality all feelings are created, formed, or manufactured by our interpretation of facts. Emotional feelings are a sensation that carry more components than our sensory (Tangible) or intellectual (Invisible) faculties can define. We know there are multiple elements that constitute the building blocks of emotions. We know that we have feelings and feel emotions. Our emotions are impacted by our senses. There is still some disagreement about the number of senses humans have, but everyone agrees that there are more then five. Our faculties are the control panel of an incredibly complex system. The "spirit" or "wiring" of our humanity contributes in the creation of every sensation we feel and every experience we interpret. There are no prerequisites for forgiveness. The only criteria is the choice to exercise it. It is not uncommon to blame a feeling or the lack thereof for an action. If we only do what we feel like doing and don't do anything we don't feel like doing our emotions rule us. Emotions should function as guards not guides. Although feelings and emotions are first cousins they are different. One of the many distinctions is that emotions function at a more intimate level than feelings. We have different feelings about almost anything. It is when we are "moved or touched" by a feeling, an emotional response occurs from a vulnerable space we guard inside us. Joy Pain Happiness & Hurt all occupy that vulnerable space together, it gets as large as we want to make it. When we allow our senses, both sensory and intellectual to influence our actions we are better balanced. Our sensory faculties of Taste, Touch, Seeing, Hearing, Smelling, Pressure, Temperature, Direction and Time function as encouragement, warning or survival cues. Whatever feelings we sanction also justify the accompanying emotions that rationalize our reactions. The byproduct of our feelings impact any environment they exist in. This is the consciousness we select and project. This initiates the endemic manifestations we experience. The best way to embrace this topic is to substitute the word "forgive" in place of the word "love" whenever it's used. "Love (forgiveness) will conquer all." (Lionel Richie) God so loved (forgave) the world (John 3:16). He that loveth (forgives) not knoweth not God, for God is love.(forgiveness) (1John 4:8). Greater love (forgiveness) has no man then this that he would lay down his feelings for a friend (John 15:13). Though I speak with the tongue of men and angels and have not love (forgiveness), I become as a sounding brass or tinkling cymbal (1 Cor. 13:1). Forgiveness, among other things, is giving up the right to hurt someone that hurt us, just as Love is an act of continual and endless forgiveness.

Nicknamed, the triad of temptation, these three "quests in life" tend to work at the core of corruption. In and of themselves; pleasure, power and possessions (profit) are desirable derivatives produced within our exchanging and evolving environments. As motivation, these states or measures of achievement, are regarded in high esteem as a degree of accepted attributes and values. There is nothing wrong if we anticipate, acquire or work to achieve these "status levels." The caveat is that pleasure must be balanced with temperance, power with empathy and possessions (profit) with philanthropy. These things should never be regarded as goals but rather results or by-products of effort. Although "Hollywood" glorifies pleasure through sex and greed, power through control and riches or possessions (profit) through rarity and lavishness; it gives us only the impression without the substance or spirit of it. There are a multiple of new powers of persuasion permeating the public. The prevalence of these new influences are present in many aspects of our lives today but are invisible to many. The panacea for the perversion of the three pernicious P's is people. People possess the power to pick persons over policies. We can prefer profit or poverty. It is that voice, the public, our voice of culture and consciousness which creates the environment to balance the scales of purposes and position with care and compassion. We the people provide the power to our police presidents and politicians not only through our vote but also through our voice. It is short sighted even unfair to vote and then abandon our values in the name of partisan loyalty or support. We are obligated to hold even our locally appointed or elected officials accountable by participating in the process of both politics and protests. Today's technologies allow everyone to have a voice. Silence is cowardice. Stop blaming the president, politicians or the police exclusively for every plight. The office of the president projects the policies we permit. Part of our politicians purpose is to produce legislation to push various interests. The primary purpose of the police is to insure public safety, protect all participants and provide the power of ENFORCEMENT! We provide them with their badge of authority. By our permission they wield the power given to them. That power, expressed through physical prowess or weaponry must be constantly sanctioned or condemned. Some offences are prevented just by knowing the police have the power to whip ASS! When an individual or individuals create mayhem that intentionally jeopardizes public safety a proper retaliatory reaction is justified. The problem does not arise through use of the power it comes through abuse of the power. If some idiot runs a car through a crowded department store on a personal vendetta, "whip their ass!" (within reason) If another idiot runs from a department store after stealing something "catch that ass without killing them." The consciousness or spirit of anarchy and mayhem should face the same intensity it projects. The precursor to the proper preponderance for the appropriate response and punishment should come from the public! "The buck stops here, there and "hear." We are the plaintiffs that police our police, presidents and public officials. Through our positions and participation we placate or promote policies & practices. There is no prestige in permitting or propagating poverty, physical or psychological pestilence through policy. Many people who are perturbed by the direction things are going, also feel powerless to change it. Any office derives it's power from the authority which backs it. Whether that authority is traditional, legal or moral it will naturally exercise its scruples. We must accept that principle. There are always fundamental beliefs embraced that create the chain of reasoning for principles. Principles can direct consciousness and consciousness can illuminate the proposition behind the principles. Civility goes hand in hand with humanity. Principles are unbiased in application, they cut both ways. Tit for Tat, that eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth law of retaliation, leaves us all toothless and blind. We must show increasing respect for any office as we exercise the prerogative to guard it from its own corruption. There must be a balance of policy and principle with empathy and consciousness to keep that respect. Whenever the rhetoric and results are not harmonious or appear disingenuous authority diminishes. We are obligated to respect the office with regards for whoever occupies that office. Respect is not necessarily agreement it is regard for position without compromise of ethics. Money is not evil; the love of money is. The elected, appointed or inherited offices are not in question; the administrators within those offices are. With the growth of technology namely artificial intelligence, targeted content applications and data mining; results and/or effects are becoming more and more predictable. Many times the malady must emerge to preface engineering the prescription for a cure. The precursor to the prescription for progress is participation. Change is much more plausible and palatable from within. Our perplexities arise from doubts about the persuasive power of our push. Through unbiased preponderance we can determine both the cause and the effect of any circumstance. Sometimes the best progress comes out of the worse experiences. Keep the faith. Faith is also active committed concern expressed by actions toward a cause. Faith works objectively. When applied impersonally, it works wonders which permeates all consciousness without regard for revenge. Many times our personal bias clouds our perceptions and cripples our faith. We must practice praying for not against people. Remember as a culture and in consciousness we act as we believe. The rule of law should never trump the role of love.....
Creation is a constant ongoing process that occurs by default through thought. Our creativity was inherited from our creator. As creatures we have control over certain aspects of our existence. Once we learn which things are truly open to our volitional control and which things are not, we can create constructively. The anxieties and stresses we encounter in our personal lives are simply created by us. Incorrect assumptions and inaccurate premises create inoperable theories that confound and confuse us. The confidence we keep in our own interpretations allows us to "con"ourselves. If life is intelligent, comes from intelligence and creates other intelligence; it stands to reason that all life is purposefully created. All life comes through or is formed by some other creature(s). Nothing materializes on it's own, we universally create it! Truth is definitive. There is never more then one version of the truth. We should never buy into the idea of personal truth. Although there may be multiple perspectives for evaluating truth, the actual truth lies within the source that created it. Many time we focus on the problem more then the solution, the sickness more then the cure and the cause more then the consequence. The truth of the matter, is the manner in which we identify and define truth. We create hierarchies, economic and social classes, cultural and religious distinctions along with multiple methods for governance. The growing realization of our universal, or at minimum worldwide connectivity, has exposed us to a new way of thinking. Keeping traditional stagnant perspective cannot and will not survive in this new age of accelerated advances, remedies and discoveries that spawn innovations. Contrary to popular opinion our minds as a species is developing and evolving. Theory of mind, often abbreviated ToM, describes the innate ability that presumably broadens our frame of reference in regards to the way we perceive the mental state of ourselves and others. In other words our perception defining truth is broadening. Life is a journey and an ongoing story. There is a beginning, middle and a transition. We have a certain amount of control in creating that story. As we live our lives that story is told. Each of our stories are intertwined and combine to create one big story shared by us all. Where and how we are when we attempt to make sense of any story gives us our perspective. Without a proper appreciation for the genesis of our reasoning we may fall victim of any kind of consciousness that fits our circumstance. It is easy to adopt a rationale which allows contradictory thoughts about experiences to create false meanings. The incorrect interpretations of occurrences contaminate the understanding of our existence. Many of the phrases and expressions generally used and accepted by most of us are inadequate representations of the truth. Whatever doesn't kill us will NOT necessarily make us stronger. Practice will NOT make perfect. Sticks and stones may break our bones but words can be fatal. The best things in life are NOT free! It is important to place truth in it own sacred category and remember that cliche's may offer snappy answers without practical solutions. People are flawed. Historically, the personification of truth has contributed to the corruption of our leaders and the deception of the masses. "The best governance comes from those who lead the way but do not force us to follow it." "The best teachers are those who show us where to look but do not tell us what to see." When we idolize our leaders we do them and ourselves a great disservice. Our priorities should be on policy, practices and principles rather then personalities, parties or people. Unfortunately our culture tends to lean towards hero worship in entertainment, politics, religion and sports. We have traded role models for role players and the transparency of truth for tactics and tales. Slogans have replaced solutions, partiality has pervaded policy and lies are legitimatized through teaching others lessons or legislation. Compatibility is a choice. To perpetuate the idea that there are specific combinations of two or more intelligent human beings that cannot coexist or work together for a common cause without the ability to overcome problems and conflicts is ludicrous. Having been fed the myth that a state of mutual coexistence is not always possible in some cultures, countries, circumstances of marriage, family or any other human relationship limits the expression of our existence. Of course there are ideal combinations of both people and elements that epitomize harmony, but that does not exclude diversities that do not. We are compatible by design. The corruption of our compatibility only comes through our egocentric expressions. Isn't it really our individuality and uniqueness that attracts us to one another? Now that we have reached the ability to manipulate and at some level predetermine physical and maybe mental characteristics genetically; isn't it time to raise our voices and have a say in determining the practices and policies that should cooperatively shape the future. Seeing one another as perfectly imperfect is more then just a perspective it is in fact the essence of our being. Homeostasis is the process that maintains stability through equilibrium even in the midst of change. As scientist search for "god particles" like the Higgs Boson subatomic particle produced from the collision of two protons; and we embrace new technologies like "CRISPR" it should be apparent that the future is HERE NOW! A relatively steady state among independent entities creates a new interdependent organism. This can be applied to the elements of an organism be it plants, animals or populations of people. From the cellular level (the microcosm) to the universal level (the macrocosm) there is a necessity to reach, establish and maintain a steady state. As we grow in our understanding of the connectivity of life we will practice the parable of the "Good Samaritan" and shun the answer of Cain who replied, "am I my brothers Keeper?" Conclusive evidence reveals how difficult, if not impossible it is to drain any swamp we're living in. If we are not a part of the solution we are a part of the problem. In any case we must take part in the process to be apart of the remedy. Criticism from without is never as effective as challenging from within. We are called individually to form collective, collaborative and cohesive bonds in and with life. We must embrace the true meaning of cooperation without compromising our calling. The functioning of anything is a joint venture of combined operations working collectively to achieve individual or collective goals. Cooperation and exchange is the way of life for our common cause. The sooner our human populations come to this realization, the sooner we will embrace the harmony that transcends tangible temporal things by creating perpetual spiritual perspectives. Remember diversity is the one thing we all have in common.
THE PREVALENT ARRANT PREMISE OF A 2 DIMENSIONAL THINKING PERSPECTIVEA thought can become an hunch, a hunch can spawn an idea, an idea infers a premise, and the premise forms theory. Theory is simply a plausible or scientifically accepted principle used to explain phenomena we cannot define. The dialectic art of investigating the "truth of opinions" allows everyone to have a point of view. It examines the discourse between different viewpoints on a subject in an effort to find and establish truth through reasoning. The "dialectic method" only works if the parties involved are sincerely "truth seekers" rather then "right fighters." The structure of a dialectic may resemble a debate but it refrains from subjective emotional appeal or disparaging comments. The intent of the dialogue is to investigate and question rather than condemn. It is this contradiction of polarized but interrelated ideas which comprise the three factors for developing one conclusion. This method of resolving contradictions develops in three stages A thesis, or first assumption put forth as an unproven premise; an antithesis, to negate the hypothetical claim; and a synthesis to resolve the tension or differences between the two. A dialectic conversation differs from the method used in didactic instruction where one side expressly teaches the other. The dialectic method helps us to apply the premise of theory to reality. Reality will always fits into truth as long as we consciously keep ourselves from altering truth to fit within reality. The way in which we approach, consider or view a matter represents the processes we use. Our frame of reference, that authoritative rational behind our thinking, suggests that our assumptions and the conclusions derived from them are accurate. Our best analysis relies on our biased opinions we make judgment from. Ultimately we believe that our perspective represents the proper viewpoint necessary to see a matter in the way it is suppose to be seen. Somehow this is the premise for our basic reasoning. Point of views can be expressed in the "first(I),""second(You)" or the "third (we)"person" context. However there is an invisible "fourth person" context called "it's." "It's" is the de facto ultimate authority we legally, morally and logically authorize both individually and collectively as judge. When we say it's not right or that's the way it's done, we imply the premise of authority from the illusive fourth person. A premise denotes an expectation. If Life is empty and meaningless we expect nothing out of it. If life has meaning we expect it to be in it's fulfillment. Life is not a problem to be solved. It's a reality to be experienced, or so they say. Today, the terms "It's" and "they" are the scapegoats for generalized blame. Adopting the premise that says "It's their fault" and "we" are not responsible does not exonerate us. Whenever we apply a "premise" without proof it is presumptuous. "We" are now the new "they." A premise is a statement, a by-product of both logical reasonable infrastructure "propositions," that creates a single conclusive claim "a proposition". The conclusion is justified by truth table style rules that apply across multiple aspects of life, "theory." Most of what we personally regard to be true or factual was most likely derived as a premise from interpreted theory. A factual conclusion is a statement that is consistent with reality and can be principally proven with present evidence. Facts are indisputable, obvious, undeniable, unassailable and unquestionable. Conclusions are judgments or decisions derived from available data that utilizes reasoning. A premise becomes conclusive when facts make it true. When a premise is true the properly derived conclusion is also true. A premise becomes a belief when we make it true in our minds. A belief taught from a premise may be fanatical but not necessarily true. Evaluate each statement below, decide if it true or not and label it as a premise or conclusive remark We should rise to the occasion. (Accomplishment over adversity) Necessity is the mother of invention. (Independent allies) Only God can judge me. (questionable accountability) I hope to break even. (a calculated gamble) Time heals all pain (longevity & feelings) It was meant to be. (destiny) EXPANDING THE DiMENSIONS OF OUR THINKING PROCESSAs a practice we define and measure life by its dimensions. Dimensions are the familiar measurable elements used to size and/or define some aspect of capacity. Most of us were taught, thereby learned and accordingly practice duality through our perspective of life. Duality simply defined is the recognition of the "state"of two (in a sense) opposite but yet related attributes in our reasoning. Win/lose, up/down, good/bad, right/wrong and God/Satan comparisons predominately influence the way we relate our experiences. At bare minimum the Chinese "Ying Yang" philosophy expresses these opposites cooperatively, but our thinking tends to perceive them competitively. Although we generally think within two dimensions most of us acknowledge a three dimensional existence and question the existence of a fourth. READ THE NEXT SECTION SLOWLY. PAUSE FOR COMMAS AND AFTER EVERY THREE TO FOUR WORDS.
The gradual acceptance of scientific discoveries, innovations and their applications have allowed new technologies to flourish in spite of our stagnant and traditional ways of thinking. After understanding the fundamental aspects of our existence it is up to us to expand our perspectives and apply them. In physics, dimensional analysis is one of the first concepts taught to explain any phenomena beyond its simplest physical attributes, entities or quantities. By dividing these characteristics into two sections we can better define them as "primary or fundamental" and "secondary or derived" characteristics. Secondary derivatives are obtained from the combination and/or interaction of two or more "primary attributes." For example "speed" a secondary derivative of "time and length" primary entities, really has three aspects or parts to it. Speed's three dimensions result from two quantities combined together to form a third unique derivative. This new derivation possesses the attributes of both its parents and can expand beyond the limits of any portion of its individual parts. Hence speed creates an even newer derivative that we call"velocity." When speed is applied to direction "velocity" results. As we can now deduce; without "time, length, speed and direction" there is no such thing as "velocity." Derivatives are formed through the creative process of combinations. Applying these principles to the formation of thought implies that our thinking should advance both cumulatively and dimension-ally. We often witness the power of cumulative prowess applied during quiz shows and exhibited by our higher IQ counterparts like Einstein, Stephen Hawkins and other intellectual giants. It is difficult to be a witness to anything we are not aware of. We may know that something is occurring but not be mindful of exactly what it is. The dimensional side of "thoughts power" is initially perceived through our imagination. Dimensional thinking is counter-intuitive. In that "three and four dimensional expressions" are not plainly evident in two dimensional environments, we are blind to them. The teaching about things of spirit are not mystical, they just aren't properly taught. Whenever we fail to develop our sensory faculties simultaneously with our intellectual faculties we are predisposed to experience an imbalance in life. Imagination is an unlimited intellectual faculty that transcends the physical tangible plain of our existence. Imagination has a visionary property that can endure torture, neutralize fear, connect with faith and create hope. The history of technological advances is a testament to the fact that the figments of our imaginations do materialize. We must come to the Realization that our intellectual and sensory facilities are designed to function in a cohesive cooperative and codependent manner. Imagination goes beyond our ability to think, it also has the power to shape and form thought. The intangible combination of cumulative & dimensional thinking affect how and what the imagination creates or gives expression to. We now live in a time of shared thought and ideas. This is an age access to radical attitudes. The spread of information has aroused imaginations that are prone to "outside of the box thinking." When we begin to believe as we imagine, our behavior of mind changes at an intangibly invisible level where dreams live. And when Imagination connects with consciousness contagious ideas develop that may be inconsistent with our original premise. |
