These are excerpts from the The Technology Transitions Work-Space session held on Jan 29, 2017 ![]() Hosted by Lynette Laveau Saxe a certified Transformational success coach, Certified NLP practitioner and certified LOA practitioner we gained a glimpses into her forthcoming book. "Like Swallowing Rocks:" We now must make hard decisions based on our core values. Our success is at stake! Here is a great example why we do what we do. We are influencers! Whether we are aware or not we all have a purpose or calling. We can generally discover that purpose by asking ourselves five questions. Question number one. Who am I? That is to say what title or label can I give to myself? Question number two. What do I do? That is to say do I like doing it? Am I qualified to teach it? Can I narrow it down to one word? Question number three. Who do I do it for? That is to ask what social, economic or demographic status am I affecting? The fourth question is why do I do it? Am I solving problems or relieving pain? Do I provide a service or solution? Does anyone want or need what I have? The fifth question asks are there changes as a result of my work, presence or influence? The "Pareto principle" (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the virtual few, or the principle of factor sparsity) states for many events that roughly 80% of the effect come from 20% of the causes. This distribution is embraced throughout various aspects of life far beyond its original intent. If we apply this principle in its simplicity to our life and business practices we can theoretically conclude that 80% of problems can be attributed to 20% of causes. In business 80% of profits come from 20% of its customers just as 80% of its revenue come from 20% of its products. The term "spiral" marketing is a newer concept that Lynette introduced to us. Applying this principle in a broad manner teaches us to see beyond the initial product we sell or purpose for engaging a client or customer. This is different from up-selling or cross-selling. This concepts caters to the idea of finding and meeting the NEEDS of our constituents and thereby creating a faithful long term following. This applies not only to our jobs and professional occupations but to our beliefs and the profession of our faith as well. This connects directly with the ideals expressed in the book we authored that she helped in titling and edited. She was also instrumental in the spawning of this blog, based on the book, "The Magnetic Model." A S.W.O.T. analysis is a useful tool that functions as a structured planning method for evaluating an organization, project or business venture. Alternatively called a SWOT matrix the acronym stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Designed specifically for a company, product, place, industry, or person we can utilize this tool to identify the internal and external factors that are favorable or unfavorable to achieve any objective. A SWOT analysis aims to identify the main internal and external factors important towards achieving any objective. Whether personal or common this assessment gives us the insight to get the best perspective to succeed. Knowing this information is not as important as applying the concepts. It is important that we capitalize on our strengths, shore up our weaknesses, invest in the opportunities that come our way and identify all threats. A Systematic strategy for data collection and analysis is paramount if we are to get the most out of our efforts. Without feedback, surveys or constructive criticism we are destined to persist in our patterns. In her conclusion, Lynette spoke of a "vision board." The board should exist both physically and mentally as a tangible and virtual score card to remind us of our short term objectives and long term goals. The creation of such a tool will assist in the Law of attraction working for us. The board will help us to clarify, concentrate and maintain focus. As we identify, clarify, and reinforce the processes that keep our attention on our intentions we insure our own success. There is always an "I" in the "Why" we do things and we must be aware that it is impossible to be in the world and not be observed by others. As she said let us realize, "that we are all influencers."
