LYING IS A DECEPTIVE, INSTINCTIVE AND NATURAL TENDENCY WE USE TO FURTHER AN AGENDA OR PROTECT A POSITION. ONLY HUMANS ARE CAPABLE OF LYING. THIS POST EXAMINES A CORE CONCEPT AS TO HOW THE PROPENSITY TO LIE HAS DEVELOPED, BEEN INHERITED, LEARNED AND INCORPORATED IN OUR DAILY TACTICS. THROUGH THIS POST, MANY OF US WILL DISCOVER THAT IN REALITY WE ARE "LIVING A LIE!" SOME OF US WOULD RATHER BE RIGHT THAN RIGHTEOUS. THE "SPIRIT OF PRIDE" CAN EASILY BLIND US! LIES ARE A BYPRODUCT OF THE DECEITFUL AND INSIDIOUS SPIRITS WE TEND TO UNWITTINGLY INDULGE. A LIE BY ANY OTHER NAME OR DEFINITION IS STILL A LIE!![]() Confused or deceived? Here's clarity without smoke and mirrors. Statistics are simply informative data, easily manipulated and meaningless if not believed, regardless of accuracy. We can pull no punches when it comes to lying because that's exactly what lying is. We are "living a lie" whenever we fail to embrace the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Anyone incapable of acknowledging or admitting to shortcomings is also "living a lie." We will discover that we are "living a lie" when we are no longer "perfecting our faith" or finding faults in ourselves. A lie is the truth LEss some punches pulled, LEss some facts overlooked, LEss some info ignored or LEss some data obscured. There are two (2) basic types of lies; "intentional and unintentional." Not that the "unintentional" ones are not thought up in the same manner as the "intentional" ones. It's rather that they tend to be more "spur of the moment" non-premeditated lies. Whether intentional or unintentional , there is no lie worthy of the unrighteous behavior it yields, no matter the noble cause, intent or purpose behind it. We lie to perpetuate and/or protect our position. Lying allows us to posture ourselves or others favorably. Whether it's a lie of denial, exaggeration, fabrication, minimization or omission it is still a lie. Humor, jesting or joking should not involve lying. Lying is so contagious, that if it is not detected and eradicated at its earliest stages will spread in some "form" or another even among those who it is used against. In the biblical depiction of creation, the first lie was told by the serpent to Eve and by the time that lie had spread, Adam was lying to God! Let's break it all down. From the two basic types of lies which are intentional/premeditated lies and unintentional/spur of moment lies; there are 3 real motives for lying. These reasons are (1) to save face, (2) to make face or (3) not to face it at all. In addition to that there are four (4) basic ways to lie. These four ways can be characterized as deceitfully done, done in a delusional way, done from a demoralized state or done in a duplicitous manner. To top this off there have been multiple descriptions, names and titles given to lies throughout the years. Lies are often colored by phrases such as fibs, little white lies, yellow lies, pink lies, red lies, blue lies, barefaced lies, bald faced/bold faced lies and out and out lies. Fibs are usually characterized as harmless lies. Little white lies are generally used to spare someone's feelings. Yellow lies are about "big things" that could potentially save someones future, life or career. Pink lies are excusable, venial or appear to have some praiseworthy motive. Red lies are done with complete awareness of their purpose to cause harm even at the expense of the liar. Although known to be a lie by both parties, this type of lie circumvents applying reality to it. The "blue lie" is more than a "law enforcement" or "fraternal order" practice. "A “blue lie" is a psychologist's term for falsehoods, told on behalf of a group, that can actually strengthen the bonds among the members of that group." Barefaced lies are so blatant that the confidence in which they are told defies any doubt in their validity. Baldfaced/boldfaced lies are the bold ones usually labeled by those being lied to. Out and out lies are the type easily recognized by most people due to their outrageous disregard for common sense and intelligence. We have developed so many "colorful phases and phrases" for lying that many lies are no longer regarded as lies. We now pretend and ignore many colors and flavors of lies. We live in a world full of pretenders. A "pretender" is simply a self deceived glorified liar who knows how to avoid facing reality. The concept, idea or notion that there is a devil, whether existing as a person or a personification, cannot be over emphasized. The spiritual trends of the day speak volumes. People are not just suddenly losing it. We are in the midst of a spiritual warfare. The next mass shooting or atrocity is just around the corner. The Devils main weapon is deception combined with ignorance. The Devil, the father of lies, is an expert and much more of a "tactical liar" then we are. The Devils lies are "TRUE LIES." These lies are mingled with enough truth to believe them. Every lie the devil gets us to embrace contains some insidious characteristic that seduces us enough to compromise some small bit of truth. The "contaminated truth" used against us has to be nipped in the bud. The Devil deceives us by using our own ignorance against us in order to convince us that whatever lie we are embracing has some level of truth to it. Whether we are expressing ourselves creatively or deceptively we are bound to reveal our true chosen fathers traits. Crossing our fingers behind our backs does not negate or make a lie venial. Most of us are unaware of it, but we all practice some form of "living a lie" at some level. What is the color of our lies when we catch ourselves in them? LIARS AND HYPOCRITES DWELL IN THE SAME DOMAIN"The church is full of hypocrites and all politicians are liars." We've all heard of or have spoken similar words regarding truthfulness. The gist of this statement is factual but it is not entirely true; that makes it a lie. As this trend continues expect to see more and more politicians and church leaders caught in their lies and their secret sins. We must keep in mind that most of us represent ourselves in a two faced manner. We maintain our public facing lives and privately kept lives differently. It is not hypocritical to selectively filter what we give others a glimpse of. The two lives (faces) don't need to match in content but it is imperative that they match in character. What many people fail to understand is that the most suitable spiritual habitats for hypocritical and lying spirits are in politics and religion. There are environments that are optimal for certain types of spirits. Bars and liquor stores are havens that attract people under the influence of addictive spirits. Dance halls and clubs are filled with people harboring spirits of lust. There are few environments that can facilitate hypocrisy and lying better then churches and governments. Think about it! What other venues call for honesty and integrity more than politics and religion? Where else can the epitome of hypocrisy reign? Every politician must present themselves in a positive and upstanding light. As rep-re-sent-a-tives of both "standards" and "people" they cannot air their dirty laundry in public. All hypocrites are closet liars. Even if politicians are careful enough not to speak a lie, the hypocritical lifestyle they live, "loves and Maketh a lie." Every religious leader and their parishioners face the same scrutiny. So many of the wild party people from Friday and Saturday nights become the perfectly pious people on Sunday mornings. Being hypocritical is easy to do. None of us are exempt from displaying arrogance or becoming "full of ourselves." Many times our selfish pride sets us up for a destructive haughty spirit that brings a fall. To top it all off we sometimes unwittingly harbor disingenuous attitudes that allow "spirits of deception" to find a safe haven within us. LIES ARE CREATIONS: BOTH TOLD AND MADE![]() "Lies, damned lies, and statistics; is a phrase describing the persuasive power of statistics to bolster weak arguments." This phrase also denotes how fallible and misapplied statistics can be at proving what ends up being not true. Popularized in the United States by Mark Twain, and others, this phrase also has British roots, but it is generally attributed primarily to Twain. This phrase may also have been extracted from another saying known as "the three degrees of falsehood." Two of the most popular versions of this saying were, "the fib, the lie and statistics," followed by lies, dammed lies and statistics. The term "fake news," has given rise to anyone's ability to discredit any thing they choose not to believe. Perhaps the phrase became a "red herring" for distraction. It is a well known fact that figures don't lie but liars figure. Good liars figure out how to blend their lies good enough to seem true. Is it the facts that we have a hard time believing? Is it the information that the facts were derived from that we doubt? Is it the conclusions derived or drawn from the data presented that we disagree with? Is it some of "all the above" that makes us skeptical? Even overwhelming statistics can lie. Although they offer us proof based on facts, those facts may be "fake." King Ahab found himself "statistically" in a superior position to engage in battle. The odds were overwhelming in his favor with the exception of one holdout among the prophets. Unfortunately, the 400 to 1 odds did not workout for the king. The "lying spirit" in this story was the statistics. The vast majority of the prophets had falsely predicted victory in a situation that resulted in defeat. Why do lies have so much power? The answer is simple; they are created that way. Lies must be conceived and created! Lies, like fears, are formed and incubated in a place and at a level of consciousness that our "minds" like to sanction as reasonable narratives for deceit. The formation of a lie carries no prerequisite and can corrupt any statement, action or occurrence whether in the past, present or future. A "lying spirit" can only flourish when the spirits of "compromise and deceit" are present to sanction its nefarious ideas. Truthfulness and integrity are not man made creations they "are" a part of the personification of God! What actually or really "is" needs no validation or proof of existence. A rose by any other name is still a rose. When we "become" what we claim to "be," we are then the personification of it. When we no longer "act" a certain way; we actually "are" or "become" that certain way. We can say or make a lie. Some of the most challenging lies we deal with are those that deny or fail to fully deal with reality. Believing in God, or at least in a "god," is a concept we expect most people to embrace. However it is not what we believe that always makes the difference. It is sometimes what we fail to believe, even though we should, that matters most. For instance: not believing in the devil has the same kind of consequences that come with not believing in electricity or gravity and then trying to defy them. Life itself, gets us into many circumstances and situations that are unanticipated; lying, seemingly gets us out of them instantly. We create lies because we can. God limited man's creative ability. Man cannot form matter. Had God not limited man's ability to create, our imaginations would have allowed us to believe that we are greater than God! Our answer to our own iniquity is to duck, dodge and deny that it exists. Traditionally, this is the quickest and easiest way to deal with any egregious situation. If we create and orchestrate a believable narrative that suits our condition we can alleviate ourselves of all responsibility. All creations, even lies serve a purpose that can also be used and repurposed far beyond its original intent. The monster, namely the LIE, created by man has morphed into more than "the words" that created them. Lies start out as words but take on a life of their own once repeated. Words are spirit, and lies become powerful spirits that grow, spread and reinforce themselves. Lies are created in perpetuity and can remain dormant, needing only a voice to revive them. Lies cannot live on their own. Only people can create and "live lies." The lies created by us must also be destroyed by us. Any lie we tell "entitles" us to fall into the excuse, logic or reasoning behind them. Without labeling a lie as a lie we validate its disguise and allow it to perpetuate its false claim. Yes, a verbal lie that has been given and then taken on a "form" therefore must be refuted, renounced and disarmed so they cannot be used against ourselves or anyone else. Remember lies become living things and would rather sleep then die. Exposing lies allows "them" to be dealt with and destroyed. Lies are usually accompanied with feelings. Lies hurt. So when we expose them and they feel threatened expect them to avoid the pain of exposure by attempting to hurt us back! Many times when the truth is revealed by exposing a lie; the source, the vessel "that truth" was revealed through, will become the object of that lie's disdain. We should expect a backlash, the retribution for inflicting the punishment of truth, on a lie created through fabrication. If we don't make lying our enemy the lies that we tell will make enemies of anyone or anything that exposes them as lies. The creation of the lie by man runs a close second to the creation of man by God! WE CAN SEE THROUGH ALL THE LIES IF WE DO NOT LIVE A LIE !![]() The one capability man lacks in our "creative" quiver is the power to form matter. We are a lot like our creator/father, God and share some similar qualities. Being made in God's image predisposes us to operating in a like manner. We take after God's creative nature; it is evidenced in all of our innovations and inventions. Our creative nature becomes a liability when it comes to lying. We falsely believe that we are more inclined to escape embarrassment, guilt and shame by attempting to conceal, cover and hide sins rather then to acknowledge, confess and forsake them. The truth of the matter is that the energy stored within a lie grows exponentially and requires ever increasing amounts of effort to keep its narrative intact the further it expands. It is important to realize that "systemically" the world does not engage in true honesty. Whenever we act on or tell a lie we are "living that lie." Baring our souls and facing shortcomings or mistakes is being penalized. Honesty and integrity are being substituted with deception and duplicity. It is easy to decipher the exact instant that a lie is created. Lies are always formed before they are told. Our imaginations and interrelated actions make and form what potentially become lies way before we establish them by stating and voicing them. Lying is so effortless. It is the fastest and easiest way of circumventing responsibility known to man. Truth is straight forward and candid. Pretending is just a sophisticated name for a lie. Lying spirits are some of the easiest spirits to discern. The litmus paper test for lies is the yea yea / nay nay test. Communicating is a direct and explicit act. All of nature is talking and signalling among and between one another. Exchange is the way of life. There is no time for miscommunication or fake messages in the animal kingdom. Man, the only creature able to lie, is also the only creature capable of exercising higher language skills. lies are very easily discerned. Lies are detected and discovered, not by knowing all of the characteristics of lies, but by primarily knowing and embracing the simplicity of truth. Lies have no life of their own. Lies are quickened (made alive) by telling, showing and sharing them. Like viruses, they can only live off of a host that allows them to spread to others. Once the host dies the lie dies with it. When we believe a lie we actually live "it" whether we tell anyone or not. Lies have life, become spirit and emit the energy needed to perpetuate themselves. It takes a long litany of lies just to sustain a single age old lie like, "the devil does not exist." Once a lie is developed and built, it needs a willing host to sustain it. Modern technology along with the laws and principles of "network effects" have accelerated the effects of lying in ways we never imagined. Lying has permeated all of society and we are facing a crisis of consciousness. Lying is no longer a social pariah and its acceptance is intermingled in every aspect of our existence. Today's attitude is to never let truth get in the way of a good story. As participating liars we unintentionally lower our standards of truth and help perpetuate deceit. STOP LIVING THE LIE!Here's the real deal. Every one of us must come to grips with our own "pet lie(s)" that we are self deceived by. Most of us would rather blindly suffer through the sickness then to get rid of the sin. Confessing our faults, shortcomings and iniquities; which are mostly hidden from us, is simple to do but difficult to execute. It is the "pet narratives" we maintain to match our "pet lies," that allows us to indulge in our "pet sins." The lie(s) we live day to day are what's hidden from view. In order for us to hide them from others we must first hide them from ourselves. We need permission to consciously commit to actions that we fundamentally find egregious. We need permission to look the other way when our personal interests intersect with values we do not hold. When our moral compass is blocked by personal comfort and obscured by legal or ethical considerations, there is always a lie (some line of reasoning) behind it. "The lie" is such an insidious creation that it actually appeals to our "good nature" at times by enticing our lusts. Lies can be also categorized as beliefs turned inside out. Many of us embrace what we believe in intellectually, but fail to apply and/or practice it in our everyday lives. We live a lie when the profession of our beliefs are not aligned with our everyday applications of actions. Whether we call ourselves Buddhists, Christians, Daoist/Taoist, Hindu, Islams or any other belief/religion; when we fail to adhere to the tenets of our convictions/faith/creed; we can just call ourselves hypocrites (liars). It's not all about the particular persuasion, creed or ideology we follow. Most every religion known to man is built upon principles of righteous. Following ideals of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance are considered virtuous by just about every legal authority (government) on the planet. To battle on the spiritual level we must talk, use the power of words, against behaviors (spirits) to condemn, expose and rebuke them. This allows us to remove and rid ourselves of them and their ways. Simply talking about them is not enough! Spirits have energy and use their force to inhabit mental territory. WORDS ARE SPIRIT! We can forcibly remove spirits by speaking directly to them. We have the power to command them to leave and let go of the occupied areas they have no authority or right to be in.
Our PET (prime) LIE, the one we live into, has to be discovered and abruptly stopped or gradually peeled away. There's time to plant and there is a time to pluck up what's been planted. "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13: 25-30

CONTRARY TO POPULAR OPINION, ALTHOUGH MANY OCCASIONS OF HEALING SEEM TO BE MIRACULOUS, THE VAST MAJORITY OF HEALING'S ARE NOT. HEALING IS AN ONGOING NATURAL PROCESS THROUGHOUT ALL OF NATURE. HEALING IS IN EVERY WAY ASSOCIATED WITH HOMEOSTASIS. HOMEOSTASIS IS A "MIRACULOUS PROCESS" THAT OCCURS THROUGHOUT EVERY ASPECT OF OUR EXISTENCE. HOMEOSTASIS IS A GREEK WORD THAT DENOTES "SAME" AND "STEADY." HOMEOSTASIS BALANCES EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE. WE CAN APPLY HOMEOSTASIS NOT ONLY TO BODILY HEALTH AND HEALING BUT ALSO ACROSS THE SOCIAL SCIENCES. RESTORATION IS NEEDED WHEN HEALING IS IMPEDED!![]() Sometimes we need God to supernaturally heal us, this might be termed "DIVINE HEALING/INTERVENTION." In reality, most of the time, we just need the natural process of healing to be restored. Does this imply that many of the issues we face with our own heath are self inflicted? The answer is yes. We have a tendency, unwittingly perhaps, to tear down autonomously built infrastructures critical to our mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Most of us do not deal with sickness until it manifests at the tangible physical level. Sickness usually begins internally with small and minor signs like itching, irritation, anxiety and uneasiness. Why do we wait until it manifests in mass shootings, self mutilation and abusive behaviors. Sin is a sickness! Illnesses fall under two basic categories, acute and chronic. Acute illnesses usually resolve on their own but chronic conditions require an ongoing treatment. Sin is a CHRONIC condition! Some healing requires daily medication or treatment to maintain it. Such is the sickness called sin. One prescription, the daily medication for restoration is repentance and confession. Good health is our normal state. We all have a built in restorative processes for healing; one is called sleep. Our circadian rhythm is as important as our diets. Slumber, the "spirit of sleep," should not be taken for granted and minimally used, or exploited by laziness and abused! Not only should our energy and health be constantly renewed and restored but our very souls need restoration too! "HE RESTORETH MY SOUL." It is important to embrace the principle that above all things we should first desire a higher level of spiritual prosperity above our constantly sought levels of natural prosperity. Seeking the kingdom of God first, adds and continually brings whatever we need from health to wealth. We must take into account that sickness is a predecessor to death. Before there was any death sickness alerted its coming. Sickness stems from disobedience and rebellion. Death comes as a result of separation from our source of life. There is ALWAYS a GENESIS for every manifestation we experience.![]() Sickness is usually described as a temporary state induced from external circumstances or exposure. For example: We may get sick from eating improperly stored or prepared food. People not accustomed to boats may become Sea-Sick. A smell might be so disgusting that It makes us nauseous. Sometimes we can just simply get emotionally sick and tired of other people and/or circumstances. Why do we usually associate sickness with our physical core, as in "sick to the stomach?" There may also be conditions or situations we find ourselves in that are sickening. Sickness can also arise from internal causes that may be lying dormant within us. These conditions may be inherited and passed from generation to generation as iniquities. All of us are genetically predisposed to our parents traits. Illness is usually associated with a prolonged sickness or infirmity. Everyone gets sick at sometime or another but sometimes we become gravely ill. A prolonged sickness may be described as an illness but not called a disease. Situations involving prolonged or repeated stubbornness, uncontrolled temper, avoidance and selfishness may be characterized as an illness of the mind. Disease is usually considered to be an ongoing residing condition that results from an internal infiltration and occupation by sickness through illness. Many diseases have been diagnosed, understood and cured. We are still battling against many others. In fact there are all kinds of unknown diseases waiting to announce themselves to the world! Emotional/mental, bodily/physical and psychological/spiritual breakdowns, may be described as mind, body and soul attacks. Discussing pathology (a medical term for the way a disease works) must focus beyond mental stresses, bacteria's, germs and viruses. Underlying spiritual conditions must not only be considered but included. Science studies the causes, nature and effects of disease. Science and spirit are not juxtaposed, they are complementary. When Macbeth pleaded with the doctors for his wife's health he asked, "Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased?" The doctors answer was short sighted. Had he met Jesus, perhaps his answer would have changed. Comorbidity is the simultaneous presence of two or more conditions working in an individual. In this forum we believe that comorbidity is the definitive condition in every sickness, illness or disease. Sin is the spiritual illness behind all infirmities. Iniquity is an inherited condition or spiritual birth defect. In this new era of accelerated change, any failure to exercise patience tends to create anxiety and duress. When we take into account many of the miracles Jesus performed, we'll see that healing was performed on both body and soul. The spiritual side was addressed through the teaching and preaching of his words, while the physical side was addressed through affirmations, proclamations and the laying on of hands. Here are a few examples. "Go and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you."(John 5:14) His disciples once asked him "Master who did sin this man or his parents that he was born blind.(John 9:2) On another occasion when Jesus healed a blind man by touching him he asked the man what he saw. When the man replied that he saw men as trees Jesus touched him once again and the "way" he saw things was also healed.(Mark 8:24) We are designed to succeed spiritually, physically and mentally. True healing is holistic. Physical remedies without addressing mental and spiritual maladies is a shortsighted way of resolving issues. Before dealing with or solving a problem we must be able to properly diagnose what that problem is beyond it's symptoms. Bad behavior and thinking are traditionally addressed through instruction, training or rehabilitation. However realizing that we cannot punish an illness, whether it's psychiatric, neurological or spiritual is key. In our arrogance and/or ignorance, is it possible that our perspectives causes us to see men as trees? The punishment has already been administered and the price has been paid. We only need access to that healing balm which restores us to the condition of being whole. Our bodies and minds although separate function as one. Our bodies will ALWAYS signal by symptoms or condition the status of mind. Our "minds" ALWAYS signal by thought, conversation and deeds the condition of our soul and spirit. OUR MAIN ENEMY IS THE DEVIL...HIS MAIN WEAPON IS OUR IGNORANCE![]() In order to gain the best opportunities for deliverance we must battle the greatest obstacle in our way which is ignorance. We must understand where disease, disorders, impairment, illness, infirmity, maladies and sickness originate. Although healing and restoration are synonymous they must be individually distinguished. It is important to make distinctions between sickness, illness, and disease. Is there a reason we use the phrases like getting sick, falling ill or having a disease? Healing is often what we request but restoration is what generally occurs. An intelligent prayer is explicit and is in alignment with scriptural basis. Healing can come from without and within. Many times once we correct the disorders we've embrace both healing and restoration will come. Some pray for healing when there is no known cause for their sickness. Others pray for restoration when they identify the faults, shortcomings or sin in their life. If there be any sick among us, they should call on those of us seasoned enough to properly perform the precision prayer that addresses the root cause of the malady. It is important to understand that as miraculous as healing may appear or seem to be healing is to be expected. We bring healing as the light of the world and the salt of the earth. When we utter the word "Healed" it indicates a past work "producing" in a present situation. Healing that has already been performed simply requires signs and proof or restoration. Healing operates on so much more than just the physical realm. Words can heal, touch can heal, faith can heal, prayer can heal, peace can heal and love can heal us all. Healing and restoration often happens without desiring or acknowledging it. Healing's restorative power comes with the grace that keeps our world turning. |
